Wired for health

This is a website where schools and colleges can find information on a variety of health issues. The site is run by The Department of Health and the Department for Education and Skills who are working together to ensure that young people and teachers can access appropriate health information. There are also links to the 'Healthy schools programme' which is part of a government drive to improve standards of health, education and tackle inequalities, launched on 14 May, 1998.

The Health Education Trust is a UK registered charity, formed to promote the development of health education for young people in the UK. It is dedicated to initiating and supporting work with young people to encourage the growth of healthy lifestyles.

Stirrin'stuff

Stirrin'stuff was set up by Fiona Bird, UK Masterchef 2001 finalist and Sunday Times finalist. Also a mother of 6 children, she loves being creative with food and is encouraging kids to learn and enjoy cooking too.

Active Kids Get Cooking

The Active Kids Get Cooking scheme is a collaborative initiative from Sainsbury's, the British Nutrition Foundation, and the Design and Technology Association that aims to educate children about the benefits of healthy eating in a fun, practical and interactive way. The scheme recognises excellent healthy eating work and cooking by pupils in primary, middle and special schools throughout the UK. Register with Active Kids Get Cooking and receive a Teachers' guide which sets out all the different food activities that can be used at school. It also provides details of how to mark the work and the different types of certificate you can claim for pupils.
