Christmas menus full of salt

- High levels of salt found in the Christmas menus of some cafés and fast food chains
- A festive meal from McDonalds contains more than the daily recommended maximum for salt
- One Sandwich from EAT. contains 4.2g of salt
New research carried out by Consensus Action on Salt and Health (CASH) has found high levels of salt in products in the Christmas menus from leading fast food outlets, cafes and supermarkets (ASDA; Sainsbury's; Waitrose; Marks & Spencer; Co-operative; Marks & Spencer; Caffe Nero; Costa; EAT; Subway; Pret-A-Manger and McDonalds) in December 2009. 87 products in total were looked at including sandwiches, burgers, salads and cakes.
