Soup survey reveals that some soups are still full of it

New research carried out by CASH has found that many soups on sale in the UK still contain a high level of salt, and that while supermarkets have made good progress with salt reduction, some brands are still dragging their heels.

Research was carried out at the seven major retailers (ASDA, Tesco, Sainsbury's, Waitrose, Morrison's, Marks & Spencer, The Cooperative/Somerfield), and the larger high street cafes EAT., Caffe Nero and Pret A Manger between December 2009-February 2010. Fresh/chilled soups, ready to eat and café soups were sampled. Instant soups were not included in this survey
