Research reveals that 1 in 4 of the surveyed soups still fail to meet the 2010 FSA voluntary targets

99% of the surveyed products contain more salt per portion than a packet of crisps

Research was carried out at the seven major retailers (ASDA, Tesco, Sainsbury's, Waitrose, Morrison's, Marks & Spencer, The Cooperative/Somerfield), and the larger high street cafes EAT., Caffe Nero and Pret A Manger between December 2009-February 2010. Fresh/chilled soups, ready to eat and café soups were sampled. Instant soups were not included in this survey
