Action on Salt joins call for a dedicated National Cardiovascular Disease Plan
Action on Salt have joined the British Heart Foundation and over 40 other organisations to call on the Government to commit to a National Cardiovascular Disease Plan.
Action on Salt have joined in support of the British Heart Foundation's call on the government to commit to a National Cardiovascular Disease Plan to sit within the 10 Year Health Plan. With cardiac care waiting lists and treatment delays on the rise, clear and decisive action from the government could help to avoid up to 11,000 early deaths from heart and circulatory diseases in 2035 in England alone.
The Government has a critical opportunity to turn the tide on this crisis, and prioritising primary prevention and reducing population salt intake is a simple yet powerful step to help do so.
